Sweeping Robots are popular! Male and female shopping decision-making processes are quite different

In recent years, Internet of things (IoT) has become the most important trend in the development of science and technology. The application of technology of "Intelligent Family Life" is the main axis of development. With the increasing popularity of networked intelligent household appliances, the more we understand consumers' needs and preferences, the more we can grasp market trends. Do you know what smart appliances consumers want to buy the most? Do consumers of different genders have different preferences for smart appliances?
More than 90% of the people pay attention to intelligent household appliances. The needs of men and women are quite different.
According to the GO SURVEY, more than 90% of Taiwanese people are interested in intelligent household appliances. Among them, the proportion of males (74%) who are actively concerned is higher than females(52%), and the attention to "sweeping robots" is gender-neutral.
It is worth noting that women lag behind men in purchasing other intelligent household appliances and are only leveling in the project of sweeping robots, thus it can be inferred that women need more energy-saving cleaning machines to keep their home clean, while men enjoy entertainment household appliances such as smart TV, smart TV box and smart speaker box, etc. This kind of demand is far greater than that of women, which shows that men have planning and expectations for the entertainment needs of family life.
Enjoy the tech life, men are more willing to spend money
The average acceptable price for both sexes falls between 10,000 and 12,000 for purchasing floor-sweeping robots. Among them, men are more willing to pay for fashionable technology. 60% of male are willing to buy one costs more than 10,000 yuan, which is higher than the proportion of females (53%). In the average cost, men spend 1,187 yuan more than women.
Men's Priority in Digital Media and Women's Preference for Traditional Advertising
In the media channel of knowing about the floor-sweeping robots for consumers, females put emphasize on "TV advertisement" (traditional media), followed by "recommendation of relatives and friends", followed by "online advertisement". Males prefer digital media more than females, and they choose to learn about floor-sweeping robots on You Tube, related BBS. In the way of purchasing the floor-sweeping robots, males (34%) tend to choose online shopping while females tend to choose from department stores (31%).
To summarize the results of the above survey, it is suggested that when brand companies promote floor sweeping robots in the future, they can put forward appropriate propaganda programs and sales strategies for different genders’ ways of getting the information and shopping habits. For example, making good use of digital media such as YouTube or BBS to focus on product details and analysis, comparison and explanation in order to respond to men's shopping needs and attract them to place online purchase orders; in addition, using TV advertisements, word of mouth, or cooperating with department stores to put forward preferential sales programs are good ways to attract females.
_Survey Description: The Intelligent Household Appliance Preference Survey is an online survey conducted by market research consultant GO SURVEY during the period of 2018/6/21 to 2018/7/16. A total of 3,110 samples were collected in this survey. The respondents were aged 18 to 70 and HAPPY GO cardholders with consumption in the past year.
