Far Eastern Group Chairman Douglas Hsu has long thought about the way to celebrate the 70th anniversary, considering that the group's business territory involves many different fields, such as food, clothing, housing, transportation, entertainment, public welfare and so on, he finally decided to express his deep gratitude and commitment rooted in the land through cooperation among affiliated enterprises. Chairman Douglas Hsu said, "Investing in social welfare is the thing Far Eastern Group always bears in mind constantly since its founder. We not only established Far Eastern Memorial Foundation and Far Eastern Medical Foundation to sponsor various cultural and educational activities, medical research and assistance, but also established Far Eastern Y.Z.Hsu Science & Technology Memorial Foundation in 2001 to reward scientific and technological innovation and development. And corporate social responsibility is the continuing mission of the affiliated enterprises. " I remember that 10 years ago, Far Eastern Group planned a series of activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary, but because of the flood on August 8, which devastated South Taiwan, all activities were changed into rescue operations. This year marks the 70th anniversary, Chairman Douglas Hsu, who focuses on transformation and sustainability, particularly required that enterprises must uphold the spirit of public welfare and exert synergy to be engaged in the public welfare, because "Today's Far Eastern Group is the result of the efforts of all people, and we will go together with Taiwan to create a better future."
Far Eastern Group's 70th anniversary is set to be "Happy 70". It hopes to convey the concepts of "Together for a Promising Future", "Everyone Goes Together to Create a Better Future". Due to the rapid development of 3C technology and the gradual replacement of books by mobile devices, this book-raising campaign not only faces the social reality of weak reading ability, but also hopes that the public will review the beauty of reading again. As for blocks, public welfare units recognize that they are good toys for the mental development of children and adolescents. It is expected to gather people's efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of the disadvantaged children. Since its launch in mid-July, wide responses were received in just 12 days. Nearly 10,000 children's books and blocks have been collected in 61 locations such as Far Eastern International Bank branches, Oriental Securities Corporation branches and Far Eastern Big City Shopping Malls and so on.
