        Good news of Far EasTone telecommunication’s 5G processes keeps pouring in! Following the successful test of 5G network data call which was the first to be launched in Taiwan, Far EasTone telecommunication joined hands with Ericsson on August 28, breaking through the environmental restrictions and completed the first 4G LTE and 5g NR dual connection test in the outdoor field of New Taipei Far Eastern Telecom Park, which realized the latest version of non-standalone network architecture in line with the international standard 3GPP and became the first company to complete the dual connection test of the existing network. The verification results are close to the 5G environment for turning to commercial purpose, which is a great step forward for the development of 5G in 2020. The current network dual connection test conducted in the New Taipei Far Eastern Telecom Park used the E-UTRAN New Radio – Dual Connectivity technology which connects LTE traffic with 5G NR and enables the equipment to access LTE and 5G at the same time. Far EasTone telecommunication firstly used the existing LTE frequency to carry out CA (carrier aggregation) and then 5G frequency band n78 was successfully accessed. Through supporting the interconnection test between CA and EN-DC terminals, the test connection was completed in the non-laboratory outdoor wireless network environment, and a number of important data of 5g application scenarios were obtained as a key reference for future planning and operation. The National Communications Commission (NCC) will issue the official 5g spectrum next year.
