FET won the Global Views' "CSR Survey - Model Award"

        Far EasTone Telecommunication was awarded again for the brilliant performance of promoting sustainability! On April 28, “Global Views” announced the results of the 2020 Corporate Social Responsibility Award. FET has made continuous progress in three aspects of corporate governance, environmental sustainability and social responsibility and has won the "CSR Survey - Model Award" for the fourth consecutive year. CSR of “Global Views” is one of the most rigorous CSR evaluation supervisors in Taiwan. Its selection process includes the first stage of written review and the second stage of oral examination. This year, as many as 188 programs participated in the selection, only 28 of which won awards, and the award rate is only 15%. The fact that FET can stand out from the fierce competition this time proves that its strategy and steps in sustainability development are well executed!

        FET President Chee Ching said that to welcome the new era of 5G, FET is deeply involved in cloud, information security and "big data + AI + IOT" (big data, artificial intelligence, Internet of things (IOT). In addition to driving the revenue growth with the new economy, it is also expected to fulfill corporate social responsibilities through these core technologies, such as enhancing the user's network experience by big data, providing intelligent services, and applying them to intelligent transportation planning to assist the county and municipal governments in building smart cities; the application of artificial intelligence can improve the network efficiency through intelligent network operation management, traffic prediction and planning; and diversified and perfect customer services will be provided through the intelligent platforms developed Internet of things (IOT).

        According to the evaluation results of the Corporate Social Responsibility Award of “Global Views”, the main reasons for FET to obtain the award are introducing sustainable management tools, showing a high degree of execution, effectively assessing influence, long-term implementation of a number of social care projects, integrating the core advantages of information and communication, and keeping pace with the times; significant progress in participating in the international evaluation, including being selected into the “Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI)” in 2019 for the first time and the "silver enterprise" of global telecommunication service industry group by RobecoSAM, an international sustainability evaluation organization, for the first time in 2020, and the "Industry Mover" award for the second consecutive year, which are remarkable performance.

        FET used big data and artificial intelligence technology to help the police find out the fraudsters, which has achieved fruitful results and won a certificate of gratitude from the criminal investigation bureau. In addition, FET combined with 5G "big data + AI + IOT" technology and formed an alliance with three medical centers, including Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, Hualien Buddhist Tzu Chi General Hospital, Kaohsiung Medical University Affiliated Hospital, and launched the first 5G remote diagnosis and treatment in Taiwan, realizing the remote and mobile medical treatment, which has solved medical differences through science and technology, broken through the gap between urban and rural areas, and practiced the vision of "no rural area" in medical treatment.

        Continuously promote enterprise sustainability development, be geared to the standards of UN and aim at sustainability development

        FET plans "5Go sustainability" (Go Prosperous, Go Innovative, Go Caring, Go Inclusive, Go Eco) to practice the sustainable strategy, and focuses on environmental, social, economic and other issues by concrete actions to be in line with the United Nations sustainability development goals.
