FENC's recycled economy was recognized by the "Global views" Corporate Social Responsibility Award

        The sustainability performance of Far Eastern New Century Corporation was affirmed again. In 2020, it won the "outstanding program - first prize of environmentally friendly group" of the 16th “Global Views” CSR Award with the project of "practice recycled economy for sustainable growth". The overall sustainability performance was awarded the "CSR survey - model award of mass production manufacturing group", which the outstanding performance was recognized by the industry. On April 28, Chairman Douglas Hsu received the award on behalf of the company.

        This year, the first prize of environmentally friendly group is mainly because FENC has long been concerned about environmental protection and practicing recycled economy. Far Eastern New Century Corporation established the first PET recycling plant in 1988, actively recycling waste PET bottles. Currently, it processes more than half of waste PET bottles of Taiwan, i.e. 50000 tons each year. In recent years, FENC has been more active in overseas expansion. In 2019, Japanese factories cooperated with Coca Cola and 7-11 to launch a 100% closed loop business model. The discarded coca cola bottles collected by 7-11 in Japan were handed over to FENC for recycling. It is estimated that 8 billion waste PET bottles can be recycled and reused every year, which can make a circle around the earth for 46.5 times, and more than 900000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions can be avoided, which is equivalent to the annual carbon absorption of 2300 Da'an Forest Parks.

        In addition, FENC continues to create the application field of green polyester products, continuously improve the recycling process, and make waste bottles into textiles, sports shoes, toys, electronic packaging materials, etc., so as to develop its exclusive production technology. In 2016, FENC cooperated with American NGO, Parley for the Oceans, and Adidas, a sports brand, to recycle the marine waste plastics from island countries and make them into brand-new products, which are sold by Adidas. They not only help island countries to establish a new business model, but also reduce the damage of waste plastics to marine ecology. By 2019, they have successfully reduced more than 3000 tons of marine waste plastics with a total sales of more than 17 million pairs of shoes made of discarded marine plastics.

        Far Eastern New Century Corporation has won recognition from all walks of life for its outstanding achievements in recycled economy. Not only the US, Canada, Central and South America and other government delegations visited in succession, it also attracted officials from the international resources group of the United Nations Environment Programme and the Department of sustainable products of the European Environment Agency, European Commission last year. In 2019, FENC expanded the scope of CSR promotion to 26 operating sites, with 181 CSR committee members working together on sustainability projects, taking the board of directors as the highest level and sustainability strategy blueprint as the guideline, echoing the objectives of the United Nations sustainability development, and specifically implementing the sustainability development.

        Far Eastern New Century Corporation established the "R&D Center" in 2001 to actively invest in innovation and R & D. In 2018, it acquired the latest R & D energy by acquiring Ohio research and development center of the United States, with a total number of approved patents of 794. The sales revenue of relevant innovative products has increased year by year with a total revenue of 31.5 billion yuan. Its outstanding R & D strength and production and marketing ability have won the titles of "People、Sustainability" of Adidas and "digital and modern supplier partner " of Nike and "sustainable development award, gold supplier" of Coca Cola.
