FET has assisted the Taipei water utility department in building smart water meters, including Zhongshan District, Da'an District, Zhongzheng District, Songshan District, Xinyi District and Wenshan District of Taipei city. More than 2000 smart water meters will be installed. It is expected to be completed by the end of the year, and data will be transmitted for remote reading by Taipei water utility department next year.
FET said that more than 2000 smart water meters will be mainly installed in Huaxia and collective residential buildings. The water meters are often located in the corner of the first floor and the top floor. FET has been involved in the innovative applications of smart city, through its own fast and stable LTE network and NB-IoT networking communication technology, it overcomes the dead corner of signal transmission, and assists the Taipei water utilities department to achieve intelligent water resources management.
The traditional mechanical water meter is read by the staff of Taipei water utility department in person every two months. The smart electronic water meter adopted by FET can send the water flow data back to the AMR monitoring cloud platform of Taipei water utility department through the communication module, which saves a lot of manpower for door-to-door meter reading.
The intelligent electronic water meter not only has the function of recording and transmitting water flow, but also has the function of water leakage detection and abnormal water use alarm, so that the management unit can grasp the water consumption situation at any time, judge whether the pipeline is abnormal according to the water flow and water pressure, and detect and deal with it immediately, which can effectively reduce the leakage rate of tap water and the countercurrent of water tower.
Zeng Shiyuan, executive vice president of FET enterprise and international business group, pointed out that FET is looking forward to using big data + AI + IOT (big data, artificial intelligence, Internet of things (IOT) Technology to assist the public sectors to promote the smart meter (water meter, electricity meter, gas meter) policy, contributing expertise to the optimization of resource utilization in Taiwan. In addition to actively investing in the construction of smart water meters, FET has also started the construction of 240000 smart meters in parts of seven counties and cities, including Taipei, New Taipei, Taichung City, Changhua County, Yunlin County, Penghu County and Lienchiang County (Matsu) at the beginning of this year.
