        From October 13 to October 15, the Taipei Innovative Textile Application Show (TITAS) was solemnly launched in the No.1 Hall of Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center.         Invest in the research and development of medical materials to protect the health of all people

        As the world's largest supplier of medical grade PE / PP and PE / PET composite fibers, FENC supplied up to 600 tons of mask fiber per month during the epidemic period, mainly including hydrophilic inner layer and water repellent outer layer fiber. The R & D team not only supported the raw materials of mask, but also developed new superfine fiber for the middle filter layer of mask, which can maintain the filtration efficiency and reduce the suction resistance, and meanwhile reduce the consumption of melt blown nonwovens and alleviate the shortage of melt blown nonwovens. If it is added to the dust mask, it can increase the dust capacity and prolong the service life.

        In addition to assisting in the production of masks, the safety of front-line medical staff is also a key concern of Far Eastern New Century Corporation. The R & D team has vertically integrated the resources within the group, and launched the "FENC® Protective Life Wear" series products, in which the antibacterial fiber, cooling and moisture transfer, FENC® Fluorine-free nylon and 6.6 fiber and other environmentally-friendly functional yarns are integrated into special dyeing and finishing technology to develop the protective fabric that meets the medical protective clothing standard AAMI PB 70 Level 4 that has the function of isolating virus penetration and absorption, resisting body fluid pollution, preventing medical staff from being infected by virus by accident. It also has water washing resistance, wear resistance, moisture permeability and excellent hand feeling. It integrates modern design thinking, provides diversified choices, and meets the needs of epidemic prevention and wearing.

        In addition, PET raw materials from FENC were also supplied to downstream manufacturers to produce epidemic prevention supplies such as blood collection tubes and protective masks. In fact, compared with the traditional glass blood collection tubes, the material made of PET raw material is resistant to falling, easy to transport and preserve, and has no inferior in transparency. It has been used in the market for many years. The anti-fogging mask on display is made of recycled PET film. Its special anti-fogging function has been widely used in refrigerated food packaging materials. When it is applied to the mask, it can also avoid the fog caused by talking or choking when medical staff wear it, so as to ensure the smooth operation of the treatment.

        Accelerating recycling and plastic reducing to save the earth

        Another major issue in 2020 is the environmental crisis. The consumption habits from the industrial revolution in the 19th century have seriously affected the global environment. According to the risk report of the World Economic Forum, the environmental crisis ranked top 5 for the first time, and environmental protection issues were paid more attention. Among them, "recycling and application of plastic products" has become the direction of the industry.

         After years of research, Far Eastern New Century Corporation has developed the latest TopGreen® and ChemCycle technology in 2020, which converts waste PET bottles and other waste polyester products into one of the main raw materials of polyester - "recycled terephthalic acid (rTPA)".         In addition to developing recycled products, FENC is also looking for sustainable and environmental protection solutions after the products are discarded. FENC® Eco fusible bonding yarn for shoes made from recycled PET bottles is compatible with the existing PET yarn in the market to help shape the upper, strengthen the stiffness, wear resistance and strength, solve the problem that the back-end upper is not easy to recycle and reuse due to the existing fusible yarn, and move towards the goal of "shoe recycling".

        On the other hand, according to the research, the synthetic fiber will produce micro plastics in the washing process, resulting in tens of thousands of micro plastics being discharged into the sea, polluting the beach and the sea. Through 3D knitting technology, special functional yarn is woven into the fabric structure, which not only has the effect of keeping warm, but also can avoid the generation of micro fibers and reduce the impact on the environment.
