        Pacific SOGO Department Store volunteers claimed the maintenance of the coast for the first time this year. Through beach cleaning, the staff was led to build a sustainable and “no plastic” home. At the end of March, more than 50 colleagues led by Vice President Yang Zhengxian of SOGO Volunteer Club went to the beach of wanlidingshe, New Taipei. They cleared 105 kg of marine wastes including bottles, caps, fishing nets, plastic bags and so on. They also took ICC to record marine wastes and helped public departments, environmental groups and non-profit organizations to analyze the composition of marine wastes, making beach cleaning more sustainable and environmental-friendly.

        Sogo Volunteer Club has been going to different sea areas every year since 2017. Step by step, they have stepped out the history of SOGO's beach cleaning! This year, SOGO volunteers specially claimed the maintenance of the exclusive beach cleaning area, and took 2021 as the "beach cleaning year". For the appeal “the sea is to be cleaner” SOGO volunteers go the area once a quarter to calculate the amount of marine waste and the total weight of waste, and quantify the results of beach cleaning; With environmental education, the staff was led to understand the composition of marine waste, and the concept of source reduction and reduction of disposable things were promoted.
