 Far Eastern New Century Corporation was awarded the "Net Zero Industry Competitiveness Excellence Award" and was represented by the Corporate Management Humphrey Cheng President at the award ceremony on July 3rd.
Far Eastern New Century Corporation has invested in recycled economy for more than 30 years, built a sustainable business model with advanced technology, shared low carbon value with customers, continued to innovate and make breakthroughs, recycled and reproduced waste polyester products into high-value products, and led the industry in recycling technology, from Taiwan's first 100% rPET Bottled water to the national team jerseys of the World Cup, All are made of low-carbon materials from Far Eastern New Century Corporation.
In response to the global trend of carbon reduction, Far Eastern New Century Corporation set greenhouse gas reduction targets in 2022, with 2020 as the base period. The short-term goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20% by 2025, and the medium-term goal is to reduce emissions by 40% by 2030, aiming to achieve net zero emissions by 2050; In 2022, with the concerted efforts of various units, greenhouse gas emissions have decreased by 14% compared to the benchmark year. In the future, we will continue to actively move towards low-carbon transformation, and in combination with Sustainability Development goals and operational growth strategies, we are committed to developing sustainable products, playing the role of industry leaders, and working together with value chain partners to create a sustainable industrial ecosystem.
The "Net Zero Industry Competitiveness Excellence Award" is organized by the 21st Century Foundation, a consortium legal entity, and is actively evaluated based on public information of enterprises. It is divided into three categories of indicators: quantitative indicators, qualitative indicators, and additional bonus items. Among them, quantitative indicators include the progress rate of greenhouse gas emissions per unit of output value and the progress rate of greenhouse gas emissions per unit of added value; The qualitative indicator is the external evaluation score; Additional bonus points include third-party certification, participation in international advocacy organizations, and other net zero actions. The selection target is listed and OTC companies, with Far Eastern New Century Corporation ranking first in the same industry.
