Far Easterner Lecture: Walking Together and Accompanying Happiness

        The 74th anniversary of the group is approaching. In this year, Far Eastern Group not only achieved many proud achievements, but also accomplished many touching public welfare deeds, and of course, every Far Eastern invested in it. Let's take a look at how Far Easterners at home and abroad can contribute their own efforts through concrete actions!

        The 74th anniversary of Far Eastern Group is a special moment for me, as I have the privilege of participating in the service learning program at Asia Eastern University of Science and Technology and seeing how the school has made significant contributions to the community.

        In terms of "environmental conservation", we have participated in multiple community cleaning activities and garbage recycling projects, which not only help improve the living environment but also educate community residents on the importance of environmental protection; In terms of "Health Services for Elderly Communities", we have held health lectures, physical fitness activities, and provided nursing professionals with the care and support needed by the elderly. In addition to improving the quality of life for the elderly, we have also narrowed the gap between different age groups; In terms of "counseling for vulnerable groups", we provide academic guidance, after-school support, and event leadership through student volunteers. Teachers and students have witnessed the resilience and efforts of vulnerable groups, and therefore cherish the opportunities and resources they have.

        Asia Eastern University of Science and Technology has continuously invested in the aforementioned services for over ten years, benefiting over a thousand people. We appreciate the investment and support of every teacher and student in the process, making the community a better place and leaving a better environment and opportunities for future generations.         Chiahui Power Corporation has always been proud of forest power plants and clean energy. In addition to contributing clean energy to society, it also often gives back to nearby residents and protects the environment. On April 23 of this year, President Chen Guangtai led his colleagues to the beach cleaning at Haomeili Beach in Bubao Town and invited residents from three nearby villages to participate. Colleagues bring their families with them, including three generations of grandparents and grandchildren. When we work together to pick up garbage, we also enhance the emotions between our families.         In August of this year, Textile Business collaborated for the first time with Taiwan Forrest Gump Massage Inn under the theme of "Moving Forward for Public Welfare, Moving Forward for Happiness". In addition to hoping to bring happiness to colleagues, it also responds to the company's long-standing support for public welfare organizations. On that day, after several rounds of work, the visually impaired massage therapists said to their colleagues in the sedentary office, "Your shoulders and necks are really tight, and the work pressure is very high!" The activity was filled with joyful laughter, and the skilled skills of the visually impaired massage therapists allowed everyone to feel a brief relaxation and regain their physical and mental balance.         I once went to the Children's Home with my colleagues and handed bags of Christmas gifts to the children's hands, hoping that they could also feel love during happy holidays. This year, I also donated to a charity organization that focuses on taking care of single mothers and orphans, helping to repair and install new household appliances, providing them with a comfortable living environment.         Every year, Far Eastern New Century Corporation holds a blood donation event at Xinpu Factory to encourage colleagues to contribute their love. When I step onto the blood donation station, I always look forward to it and feel nervous. Although the needle in the nurse's hand makes me feel a little pain, it can inject hope and new life into others' lives.         The New Pu factory of Far Eastern New Century Corporation is located in Hakka Village, and most of them are local employees. Every year, from Dragon Boat Festival, Mid Autumn Festival to Mid Autumn Festival, they can always feel a strong Hakka festival atmosphere. This year, the 14th Far Eastern New Century Corporation Marathon, which has become a benchmark event in the region in recent years, not only relies on the support and promotion of the company, but also relies on colleagues to actively serve as volunteers. The sports park event not only attracts many retired employees to return to the factory for fun, but also collaborates with nearby Wenshan Elementary School to arrange a school club performance, allowing local residents to enjoy a warm sense of happiness.         Wandering animals are a frequently discussed issue in society, and many kind-hearted individuals establish midway homes to provide temporary accommodation for stray cats and dogs. However, the huge expenses and affairs often weigh on caregivers. After seeing a holiday volunteer activity at a midway home in Kaohsiung, colleagues invited everyone to help clean the kennel and participate in holiday charity sales, website construction, etc., hoping to improve the living environment of the animals and find a home that is willing to love and take care of them for a lifetime more quickly.         I have received help from many people during my growth and education stages. In addition to being grateful when I grow up, I also want to give back to society. Therefore, I often purchase love goods and donate money to support elderly people's meals. At a chance meeting, upon seeing the adoption information from the Family Support Foundation, I decided to join the list of adopters. The Family Assistance Foundation will send the recent situation of children or letters from their families to adopters. Although the monthly donation amount is not large, the help for children is greater than expected.         I have participated in community cleaning public welfare activities, working with a group of volunteers to pick up garbage, clean streets and parks, and trim weeds. Although the weather was quite hot, everyone was full of energy and encouraged each other. Even the community residents came to participate and provided drinks and Dim sum, which made us feel warm. It is a great pride to see the parks and streets restored to cleanliness.         It has been 10 years since I joined the blood donation team, and I have donated blood 40 times in total. My father was very supportive after learning about it. One day, while on his way to work, he was seriously injured in a car accident and needed more than 20 bags of blood transfusions during the rescue process. The hospital informed me that due to the fact that there were two regular blood donors among his father's immediate family members, even during a critical period of blood inventory, the supply of blood bags was still safe. Although my father passed away unfortunately, I am still very grateful to the blood donors. Friends and colleagues have learned about this matter and have also started donating blood, hoping that more people can join hands to donate blood this year and gather greater strength.         Since 2019, in my spare time from work, I have volunteered to go to the GEMTEK center, community center, nursing home community care station, etc. in Kaohsiung to teach the general public or the elderly to practice health and wellness Qigong. Seeing the happy smile of the elderly during the process also makes me feel incredibly happy and gain insights into more life philosophies. Being a helper is a great thing.
