Principal Liao Qingrong delivered a speech on the 35th anniversary celebration of Yuan Ze University

        In 1989, Mr. Yu Xiang Hsu, founder of Far Eastern Group, founded Yuan Ze University. Over the years, the higher education environment in Taiwan has undergone significant changes. Fortunately, with the support of Chairman and the board of directors, the careful teaching and research of all faculty members, and the good reputation established by alumni, Yuan Ze University can still stand firm and continue to move forward.

                Yuan Ze University currently has 300 full-time teachers and 8500 students, making it a medium-sized university in Taiwan. However, in terms of teaching, research, internationalization, and other aspects, it ranks among the top private universities in Taiwan. Especially in the past year, we have made significant progress in many aspects, such as the ranking of "Enterprise's Favorite College Students", and Yuan Ze University's ranking in Vision magazine has improved by 7 places; In the "Private General Universities" of 1111 Job Bank, progress by more than 6 places. Recently, the university's star recommended admission list showed that Yuan Ze University is one of the few private universities with zero vacancies, and every department is recognized by students and parents. In addition, although there are not many graduates from our university each year, and the number of people directly employed after graduation is even smaller, most of whom enter top university R&D centers, making it relatively unfamiliar to most practitioners, the starting salary for employment of graduates from Yuan Ze University ranks in the top 10% among 136 public and private universities in Taiwan, surpassing many public universities, which proves that the students we cultivate are widely recognized in the industry.

        There are two main reasons for this, one is English proficiency, and the other is information skills. Yuan Ze University has established a very high-quality learning environment. In addition to many English intensive courses, the board of directors has provided additional funds this summer to subsidize students to participate in intensive English or international exchange courses overseas, which other schools cannot match. In terms of information capabilities, our school collaborates with technology giants such as Google, Microsoft, and AWS to enhance students' cloud and AI capabilities, enabling them to obtain international certifications during the semester; And Far Eastern Group also provides many internship and employment opportunities for a long time, coupled with the cooperation between the school and TSMC in handling semiconductor courses, which are all reasons why the starting salary for graduates from Yuan Ze University is relatively high.

        In the face of competition in globalized higher education, we have formulated a comprehensive internationalization development blueprint and are gradually moving towards our goals. I believe that within five years, Yuan Ze University will have the opportunity to enter the Fortune Global 500 and become the most international first-class university in Taiwan.

                At the same time, in order to connect with alumni emotions, Yuan Ze University has been holding alumni dinners every year since last year, inviting alumni to come back, Cheer up for us, and witness the progress and growth of the school. At present, the Yuan Ze University Alumni Association and alumni associations in various regions and departments have been officially operational. Although everything is difficult at first, the alumni of Yuan Ze University have a strong centripetal force. I believe that over time, we can gather more strength and make the alumni association grow stronger and stronger.

        In addition to dedicating themselves to improving their professional fields, the students at Yuan Ze University have also shown outstanding performance on the sports field. Last year, they won major awards in various events such as tennis, badminton, bowling, judo, and high jump in college sports events. Starting this year, we will recruit outstanding students in sports from the bachelor's class, and the sports representative team of Yuan Ze University will definitely achieve better results in the future.

        Sports can bring health and happiness, and also have positive benefits for students' learning and teachers' teaching research. Today, taking advantage of the school anniversary, we also hold the first anniversary road running event, hoping to enhance the sports culture of Yuan Ze University, remind everyone to develop exercise habits, and make health and happiness not only a blessing, but also practical in the daily lives of colleagues, students, and alumni at Yuan Ze University.
