Far EasTone Telecommunication signs green power contract with offshore wind power generation company, and assists Taichung City in installing energy-saving streetlights

        Far EasTone Telecommunication announced on March 13th that it has signed a corporate green power contract with the first phase of the Takumi wind farm under the Copenhagen Infrastructure Fund (CIP), and will obtain 10% of the power generation capacity of the farm for a period of 30 years of offshore wind power supply, helping to promote the company's RE100 net zero carbon reduction target, achieving 100% renewable energy use commitment by 2040, and committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2048, contributing to mitigating global climate change.

        On the other hand, the Taichung City government launched energy-saving streetlight replacement and maintenance work on March 21. Far EasTone Telecommunication will assist in the replacement of nearly 130000 streetlights, with an expected total electricity savings of about 80 million kWh, equivalent to reducing carbon emissions by 39000 metric tons. It is estimated that about 1.1 billion yuan in electricity bills can be saved over 10 years, which will greatly improve the maintenance efficiency of Taichung City streetlights and move towards a safer and more sustainable urban vision.
