Far Eastern Memorial Hospital SBRT awarded ISO 14067 carbon footprint certification

        The Department of Radiation Oncology at Far Eastern Memorial Hospital has recently completed the ISO 14067 international standard certification for the carbon footprint of stereotactic radiotherapy (SBRT) services for breast cancer and prostate cancer, demonstrating the hospital's professional strength in precision medicine and quality management. This also symbolizes the shift of medical services from a single treatment oriented approach to a new model that combines high-precision medicine with sustainable environmental management.

        The Chief of the Radiation Oncology Department, Dr. Xie Chenxi, pointed out that traditional radiation therapy takes several weeks and involves dozens of trips to and from the hospital, causing great physical and mental burden on patients. After introducing advanced SBRT technology, Far Eastern Memorial Hospital has significantly reduced the number of treatment sessions from 20 to 39 to 5, adopting a "high-efficiency, short course" treatment model with significant environmental benefits.
