The early function of Taiwanese identity cards is only travel documents for Taiwan residents to enter the mainland. With the increasingly close cross-strait exchanges, many Taiwanese have gone to the mainland to invest and develop, and then settle down for a long time. Taiwanese identity cards are no longer limited to travel documents, and gradually form identities similar to those of Taiwanese residents in the mainland. "Taiwan Residents'Pass to and from the Mainland" is also commonly known as "Taiwan Citizens' Certificate". At present, paper certificates have been discontinued and completely changed to card-type. The general validity period is five years. If they are overdue or less than half a year, they need to be dealt with anew. Among them, if they are lost within the validity period, they need to be dealt with anew as "lost documents". Damage within the period of validity needs to be dealt with again, which is "damaged parts".
Requirements for Supplementary Taiwan Certificate
1. Submit and complete the "Taiwan Residents'Application Form for Mainland Pass", and attach a recent color photo (48 *33mm) with a front, white background and no hat.
2. To submit the original and photocopy of the registration certificate for temporary accommodation, only the original and photocopy of the residence certificate should be submitted if the mainland residence permit has been processed; the registration certificate for temporary accommodation can be applied to the police station of the place of residence or the hotel connected with the police station.
3. Submit your valid Taiwan ID card. If you do not have an ID card, you can submit a household registration book or a transcript of the household registration issued within six months. The above-mentioned documents should be submitted for examination of the original and a copy of the identity card or the transcript of the household registration (household registration book).
4. The Exit and Entry Administration may request the applicant to submit other materials according to the specific circumstances. In the absence of special circumstances, submissions are usually not required.
5. Applicants are required to personally process and collect digital photo information, except in the following cases:
(1) An elder who has reached the age of 60 may entrust another person to apply on his behalf.
(2) People under the age of 16 may apply for it by their guardian or by another person entrusted by the guardian.
(3) Persons with disabilities due to illness or other reasons may entrust others to apply for it on their behalf.
The trustee must submit the power of attorney of the applicant, and the guardian shall submit the birth certificate of the applicant or the certificate of guardianship relationship such as the transcript of household registration; at the same time, the guardian and the trustee shall submit the original identity card of the applicant and the photocopy. If it is inconvenient to handle it personally due to illness or other reasons, the relevant certification materials shall also be submitted. All the above agents must submit three recent color photos (48 x 33mm) of the applicant's front face, white background and without hat.
Finishing time limit
The entry-exit Department of the Public Security Bureau shall complete the application within seven working days from the date of acceptance of the application; the cities in mainland China (e.g. Shanghai) which have opened the Internet application can complete it within five working days.
Reminders
1. In case of accidental loss of Taiwanese identity cards, although no certificate of loss is required when the documents are retrieved, it is suggested that due to safety considerations, the police station (police station) where the lost land belongs should report the case as soon as possible and obtain the certificate of report.
