FET 5G free remote diagnosis in the Taitung Carnival

        On December 26, 2020, FET participated in the "Happy Home with you Carnival" activity in Taitung County, providing 5G free clinic service for ophthalmology in Taitung County Art and Culture Center Square, connecting with the Affiliated Hospital of Kaohsiung Medical University and Hualien Buddist Tzu Chi General Hospital for real-time remote interpretation and feedback, so that the public can experience the practical application of remote diagnosis and treatment technology.

        In the middle of this year, Taitung County and FET jointly launched the first 5G remote diagnosis and treatment service in Taiwan, including ophthalmology, dermatology, otorhinolaryngology remote diagnosis and treatment in 11 health centers in Taitung County such as Lanyu and Lvdao, to make it more convenient for people living in rural areas to seek medical treatment. Since its launch five months ago, over 1600 people have benefited from the service, in which the proportion of patient who seeks for the treatment of ophthalmology is the highest. So in this activity, FET specially arranged 5G remote diagnosis and treatment free clinic service, so that the public could actually experience the application of 5G medical technology in daily life.

        Zeng Shiyuan, deputy president, executive director of enterprise and international business group, said that FET has focused on the digital construction in the rural areas for a long time, and is also committed to improving the quality of rural medical care. By combining 5G with "big data + AI + IOT (big data, artificial intelligence, Internet of things (IOT)" and cloud technology, FET starts from the rural areas, lets the application of 5G remote diagnosis and treatment not only just be a single specialist clinic, but also connect to realize multi-specialist consultation, and gradually expand the application of remote medical care.

        In fact, FET has been working in the medical field for a long time. In order to practice corporate social responsibility, it will continue to inject science and technology into Taiwan's diagnosis and treatment environment in the future, and replace the road with the Internet, so that medical resources can be popularized to all corners.

        In addition, since this year, FET has been promoting the CSR program of "FET’s remote diagnosis makes health spread", it has collected 40 blood glucose machines and donated them to rural residents through the Social Department of Taitung county. It has implemented the brand declaration of "No distance with FET, think further, get closer".
